Anniversary & @Postcrossing Postcards

Dixi and I received 3 postcards in the mail yesterday. The first one was from one of our oldest and closest friends. The other two were via Postcrossing.

From 10th Anniversary

This card came through Postcrossing and, in part, reads:
Happy 10th Anniversary!
Please consider Iowa for your next romantic get-away. Ok - maybe not. Pigs and corn are more 5th anniversary if you ask me. Hold out for Hawaii Dixi!

From PostCrossing

This card also came through Postcrossing and was mailed on April 20, 2011. Kiron, the sender, also used glow in the dark stamps!

Anniversary Postcard - Chicago, Illinois

Dixi and I received another postcard today. This one is from Christopher in Chicago. Chris is the proprietor of two blogs. The first is Notes From Underground, which you will find over there on the right in our "Stuff We Read". He also writes movie reviews on Netflix Stream. Both are well worth checking out.

From 10th Anniversary

A breathtaking view of the Chicago River.

Anniversary Postcard - Sequim, Washington

Dixi and I received our first 10th Anniversary postcard today from Shannon at Sequim Daily Photo. She even place a little felt heart on the card!

From 10th Anniversary

Snow capped Olympic Mountains, sunshine and lavender fields await your visit as Sequim celebrates the beauty and usefulness of this sweet-smelling herb annually during its peak bloom season in July during the Celebrate Lavender Festival, held since 1996.

Thank you Shannon!

Anniversary Planning Update

So our 10th wedding anniversary is coming up the end of this month and I'm trying to come up with some ideas to make it as memorable as possible for Dixi. This being the case, I'm taking her to Gruene on the 30th to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers at Gruene Hall. We've been huge fans since way back when they were know as the Refreshments.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank Christopher from Notes From Underground for helping to get the word out about what I'm trying to do with the postcards idea.

I don't mind spending a bit of cash on Dixi, and I do that on a regular basis. But I also prefer to do things that will be more memorable as well. So if you have any ideas, please let me know!

Wedding Anniversary

Ok. So Dixi and I have our 10th wedding anniversary coming up in April. I usually try to do something different and unique each year. One of the things I'm doing this year is to have a picture of us "commissioned", if you could call it that. I had come across a young lady in California that does art and animation. I emailed her and sent her some pictures and am eagerly awaiting to see what she comes up with.

But I'm thinking that I want to do something more this year. So here's my idea.

I know I don't have 100's and 100's of followers, but I'm hoping that they can help to make this a memorable anniversary for Dixi and me. What I'd like is for us to receive just a simple postcard from wherever it is that you live (city or state) with the simple message of "Happy 10th Anniversary!". Like I said, I'm not expecting hundreds of postcards. I'm really not expecting any because this little blog doesn't get tons of traffic. But if you just happen to come across it and read this post, drop us an email and I'll respond with the mailing address. If we do receive any of them I will be sure to post them on the blog as they come in with a link back to you (if you like). And if you feel like doing this, please feel free to forward it to anyone else you think might be tempted to send a postcard to a random stranger for no real reason at all.
