Arguendo translates to "for the sake of arguing". Dixi translates to "I have said all I had to say and the argument is settled".
Usually, she wins. This should be interesting.

Living Quarters
Dixi and I reside in a 1 bedroom apartment here in Austin. It's not huge by any means, but it's comfortable for us for now. We like the cheap rent and basically zero maintenance costs. But we do eventually want to move some place a bit bigger with more storage space. But when I came across this, I now feel like we're living in a mansion!
The Prokop's spent $150,000 on an apartment in Manhattan for the two of them and their 2 cats. It has views of upper Manhattan and hardwood floors. They even have a doorman. They says it's "cozy". And just what makes for a cozy $150k apartment in New York City?
How about 175 square feet?
It's referred to as a "microstudio". And they also spend $700 per month for the maintenance fee!
You can read the story here and see some pictures as well.

We Made The News
Well. Sorta.
I was taking Dixi to work this morning and we were headed south on Lamar. Across from the Thirsty I Lounge is a body shop called Guicho's Body Shop. There were a couple of fire trucks in the north bound lanes putting out a car fire. We pulled over and got a couple of pictures and sent one to KXAN. They posted the picture along with a story about the car fire. You can read the story here.

I Think This Says It All
I wasn't real impressed with the Black Eyed Pea's performance at the Super Bowl this past Sunday. Evidently, I'm not the only one.
"The group is currently performing at the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show where a lack of post-production effects has revealed their stage show to be of inferior quality to a high school talent show."

Rolling Blackouts in Central Texas
It was a very surreal feeling this morning driving Dixi into the office. From just south of Braker Lane all the way down to just south of Rundberg Lane was suffering from the effects of no electricity. For those of you not from the Austin area and not familiar with north Lamar Boulevard, the road is filled with both businesses and apartment buildings with lighted signs, street lights and traffic signals. A typical city street. Except for this morning.
But this morning, with no lights on, Lamar held an almost scary feel to it. According to the Austin Energy website this is due to rolling blackouts. The first report I heard on the radio said that the outages should last only about 7 minutes per area. However, now they're saying they could last up to an hour in places.
According to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, "the move follows a predesigned plan that distributes outages throughout the service area."

According to KXAN, all of Burnett was without power due to the weather yesterday.
