Wedding Anniversary

Ok. So Dixi and I have our 10th wedding anniversary coming up in April. I usually try to do something different and unique each year. One of the things I'm doing this year is to have a picture of us "commissioned", if you could call it that. I had come across a young lady in California that does art and animation. I emailed her and sent her some pictures and am eagerly awaiting to see what she comes up with.

But I'm thinking that I want to do something more this year. So here's my idea.

I know I don't have 100's and 100's of followers, but I'm hoping that they can help to make this a memorable anniversary for Dixi and me. What I'd like is for us to receive just a simple postcard from wherever it is that you live (city or state) with the simple message of "Happy 10th Anniversary!". Like I said, I'm not expecting hundreds of postcards. I'm really not expecting any because this little blog doesn't get tons of traffic. But if you just happen to come across it and read this post, drop us an email and I'll respond with the mailing address. If we do receive any of them I will be sure to post them on the blog as they come in with a link back to you (if you like). And if you feel like doing this, please feel free to forward it to anyone else you think might be tempted to send a postcard to a random stranger for no real reason at all.

What Kind of Example Are You Lady?

I came across this item on HuffPost this morning. Then, through the comments, I came across this.

I personally think this woman should spend some time in jail. 3 months would be good. But the man that stopped the fight and asked "What kind of example are you?" should be celebrated. His name is Johnny Montalvo and he is a reverend at Victory Outreach Church in Modesto, CA.

The mother, meanwhile, has been arrested and charged with child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Careful here, as there is some NSFW language.

More Shoe Fetish

Remember me saying that Dixi and I have a shoe fetish? I also said that Dixi had at least 4 other pair that she would like to have.

Well, here they are. The latest addition to her ever expanding line of footwear.

Really?

This out of San Antonio this morning. And all because of the price of a Taco Bell Beefy Crunch Burrito?

Movies and Conversation with Dixi

Yesterday afternoon Dixi and I decided that we needed to just sit around for the remainder of the weekend and watch movies from the library. It's always nice to lounge around the casa, kicked back eating junk food and watching flicks while basically not getting out of bed. We checked out a total of 12 movies from the library this weekend. One of those movies was The Terminator.

At the end of the movie, we see Sarah Connor stopping to get gas and drive off into "the storm" that is coming. This one of those moments were you contemplate the picture that was taken of her by the little boy, and how Kyle always kept it with him.

Instead, as Sarah is driving off, I get this:

Dixi: "Where did she get the money to just drive off like that? I mean, that's a fairly new Jeep, at least for the time the movie was made. Wasn't she basically just scraping by as a waitress?  What happened, did she get some kind of insurance settlement from her mother's estate?"

This is why I love Dixi.

Seriously.

Great Mugshot, Part Deux

Today we have Marcus T. Bailey. Evidently he was having his hair done and had to step out for a moment to conduct a drug deal. After the last one, I think I'm going to be more careful in barbershops.

You Gotta Love Karma

So the Supreme Court upheld the right of those wackos at Westboro to protest at funerals. So be it. Like I said before, I understand "technically" why they ruled the way they did, even if I don't agree with it at all. And while I don't believe in vigilantism either, I can't say that I wouldn't be above doing what was done to some of the wackos while they were protesting in Tulsa. This story is a bit old, but I just came across it. I simply love the fact that there were people in town who wouldn't help! I wonder how long it actually took for AAA to show up? Yeah, karma is a wonderful thing.

I also came across a couple more excellent sings against the wackos. Enjoy!

Charlie Sheen Live

First came the tweet tonight:

From Stuff

Somehow, I just couldn't resist clicking on the link. Evidently Charlie is doing a live show in Detroit on April 2nd.

From Stuff

I also realized that I had to post this, not because it surprises me, but mostly for the sake of posterity. That page will be gone in a couple of weeks and I want to be able to look back on this and just laugh myself silly. I seriously think that he's headed for a long stay in a psychiatric facility. At first we kinda got a laugh out of his shenanigans, but now we're to the point of just feeling sorry for him. And not in a "I can't believe the bad luck he's had" kind of way either. More like the "He's too stupid to realize how ridiculous he's become" kind of way. And that's just sad.

Motorhead Day

It's officially Motorhead Day in Austin today and they are playing Stubbs tonight. And if you don't have tickets for the show, sorry to say that it's a sold out show.

Our New Hero - NSFW

After hearing about the Supreme Court decision yesterday regarding the Westboro Baptist Church and their right to protest at the funerals of military personnel, this guy has become a new hero of ours. While we understand the technicality of the ruling, Dixi and I still regard what these people are doing as hate speech.

But this guy needs to be imitated at every demonstration these people show up for.
